Lucia with her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto saw the apparition of the Blessed Virgin between May and October 1917 and saw the prophesized miracle where 70,000 witnessed how the sun spin in the sky before plummeting towards the earth, this miracle was known as the “The Miracle of the Sun”. The three children already passed away, Francisco when he was 10 years old (June 11, 1908–April 4, 1919), Jacinta in her 9th (March 11, 1910–February 20, 1920) both siblings was beautified by the Catholic Church and now called blessed and Lucia died last 2005, when she was 97 years old and as a nun from the congregation of the Discalced Carmelites.
