After the breathtaking week-long quarter four semi-finals of Tawag ng Tanghalan, contenders Carl Malone Montecido and Sam Mangubat are moving to the grand finals. The two will be joining Mary Gidget Dela Llana, Maricel Callo, Marielle Montellano, Pauline Agupitan, Eumee Capile and Noven Belleza.
Sam and Carl Malone, were resbakers or returning contenders in the competition. Sam from quarter 3, he failed to be included in the semi-finals after Aillen Udtog defeated him in the face-off in August 2016. Meanwhile, Carl Malone, who entered the competition during the early months of the quarter four, was defeated by Mark Laspinas in November 2016. Carl Malone’s story was featured in Maalaala Mo Kaya last December 2016.
This is now the first time for Tawag ng Tanghalan to have resbakers as the winners of the Semi-Finals. Quarter 2 winners Pauline and Marielle were also returning contenders from quarter 1.
Resbakers were introduced in quarter 2 to give chance to the contenders who didn’t won the daily one and didn’t made it on the semi-finals. Before the grand finals of Tawag ng Tanghalan there will be a wild card round in the show tagged as the Ultimate Resbakers where the 14 semi-finalists who didn’t make it in the grand finals will have another chance to prove themselves.
Tawag ng Tanghalan airs within It’s Showtime afternoon on ABS-CBN, Monday to Friday.
