Boxing icon Muhammad Ali passes away last June 3 at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, after being admitted on Thursday (June 2) due to respiratory illness. During his admission last Thursday his condition was described fair by the doctor until the following day that it became worse and needed to put him on life support. Aside from the respiratory illness, it was reported that his condition was made complicated by Parkinson’s disease.
Ali’s family releases statement that his funeral will take place in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
He was known to be a boxer with unorthodox boxing style, which was described as “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”. His boxing career started in 1960. During his boxing career he had a total of 61 fights and 56 were wins including 37 knockouts. Highlights include The Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire in 1974 versus George Forman and Thrilla in Manila in the Philippines in 1975 versus Joe Frazier.
