After the breathtaking blind audition of The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 where the auditionees are combination of newbies, contest joiners and artists hoping for second chance in the limelight, the competition moves to another level starting December 6 for the kick-off of The Battle. Every night in The Battle two contestants from each coach need to face one another singing one song and the person with powerful voice and confidence on stage will surely emerge victorious in the round and of course the decision will be coming from their coaches; Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Apl.de.Ap and Bamboo.
This Saturday (Dec. 6), expect a grand showdown of vocal prowess between Bradley Holmes and Jason Fernandez of Team Apl (“I Would Do Anything for Love”), Daniel Ombao and Jason James Dy of Team Sarah (“On Bended Knee”), Rita Martinez and Suy Galvez of Team Bamboo (“Tainted Love”), and Philippe Go and Timmy Pavino of Team Lea (“Forevermore”).
The program will also serve up five tough bouts this Sunday (Dec. 7) with Team Sarah’s Kokoi Baldo vs Elmerjun Hilario (“To Be With You”) and Shaira Opsimar vs Monique Lualhati (“Lady Marmalade”), Team Apl’s Mark Avila vs Mark Cando (“This I Promise You”), Team Lea’s Humfrey Nicasio vs Leah Patricio (“Forever”), and Team Bamboo’s Ramonne Rodriguez vs Lougee Basabas (“To Love Somebody”).
Unlike in the last season of The Voice of the Philippines, 8 contestants who will be eliminated in The Battle can be given another chance to continue their journey in the show if ever one of the coaches from the other team will decide to “steal” them from their current team. Coaches will only have 2 chances to steal a contestant from the other team and if there are more than one coach decided to steal them the contestant will have the power who among the coaches they will choose to join.
