Last night, July 1 in Aquino & Abunda Tonight, Boy Abundo didn’t missed the opportunity to give his opinion regarding the recent statement of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on the dropping of Nora Aunor in the National Artist list because of her conviction on drug abuse in 2005. But earlier before Abunda gave his opinion it was reported that Claire Espina, lawyer of Nora in Los Angeles that the Superstar was never been convicted on the said case.
Abunda statement was “”I totally respect the decision of the President but I humbly disagree with his decision. Dahil naniniwala po ako na si Nora Aunior ay deserving to be a National Artist and ;yung dahilan po na naibigay ng ating Presidente na had something to do with drugs, ayon kay (Claire) Espina ang abogado ni Ate Guy sa Amerika, hindi na-convict si Ate Guy.”
Meanwhile, Kris Aquino the youngest sister of President Aquino mentioned that whether they agree or not with the decision of the president he admires his brother for being firm with his stand as a leader of the nation.
