>Let’s talk about Population Development (PopDev) issues over a cup of coffee courtesy of Bo’s Coffee Glorietta 5 every Saturdays beginning January 16 for the Mulat Pinoy’s Kapihan series as presented by Probe Media Foundation, Inc. (PMFI) with the support of the Philippine Center for Population and Development (PCPD). Mulat Pinoy project aims to 1) bring about a broader awareness of population and development issues; and 2) push for candidates to adopt and address popdev issues in their campaign platforms. The program is composed of complementary online and offline initiatives, where the Kapihan series is part of the offline campaign. The Kapihan series is coffee shop discussions featuring at least one major electoral candidate and third-party individuals (from NGOs, etc) as dictated by the session topic. The sessions are designed to give candidates an opportunity to engage media practitioners, bloggers and the general public to present and explain their perspectives on popdev and the theme.

Starting January 16 until April 10 the Mulat Pinoy Kapihan series will be held at the Bo’s Coffee from 2-5 PM. The coffee shop discussion also offers a strong and encouraging brew for candidates to adopt and address popdev issues in their campaign platforms in the upcoming 2010 elections, while simultaneously informing the general public about the candidates’ stands.
