It is finally here! Anne Curtis will be swimming her way to the Primetime Bida of ABS-CBN and to the hearts of the Filipino viewers worldwide as the iconic comic book character created by Mars Ravelo named Dyesebel. Anne once played a mermaid role as Dyosa Agua, one of the mythical characters she played in the teleserye Dyosa and now as a full time mermaid in primetime television it is her dream role to play the character that was loved by most of the Filipinos.

Anne will be joined by Gerald Anderson and Sam Milby who play the roles of Fredo and Liro respectively. They will be Anne’s leading men as she became part of the community of mermaids and later with the human to look for the missing side of her life. Also joining the power cast are Ai Ai delas Alas, ZsaZsa Padilla, Dawn Zulueta, Eula Valdez, Gabby Concepcion, Andi Eigenmann and Bangs Garcia. The 2014 TV adaptation of Dyesebel is directed by Don Cuaresma and Francis Pasion.

Anne is the second Dyesebel to swim on primetime television after Marian Rivera in 2008 in GMA 7. Meanwhile she follows the footsteps of veteran actresses who did the role on the big screen including Edna Luna (1953), Vilma Santos (1973), Alma Moreno (1978), Alice Dixson (1990), and Charlene Gonzales (1996).

Unlike other Dyesebels who uses their hair to hide their breast or with clams, ABS-CBN uses prosthetics that will compliment to her fins along with other mermaids in the show.

Up to date, Dyesebel is ABS-CBN’s fifth mermaid series that aired on primetime TV starting from Marina, Dyosa, Mutya and Aryana. The show will be battling another mermaid series in the other station but with the stellar cast and the storyline that ABS-CBN offers the Kapamilya network is up for a good fight most specially that it is under the Dreamscape team who produces top-rating shows including Walang Hanggan, Tayong Dalawa, Juan dela Cruz and recently concluded Honesto where Dyesebel will be the replacement show on its timeslot starting March 17.
