From US, Singapore, Australia, India, China, Japan and UK, Python Conference (PyCon) has finally landed in the Philippines last June 30 and July 1 at the Accenture Ideas Exchange room in College of Computer Science, University of the Philippines in Diliman. Tagged as the very first Python Conference in the Philippines it became the assembly of programmers and IT specialists whose expertise is into powerful programming language used in a wide variety of application domains, useful for web development, database access, scientific and numeric computing, network programming, and software development. And Chikka, one of the top web and mobile apps developer in the country that is now a subsidiary of Smart Communications joins the said event.
In the two-day Python Conference in the Philippines, participants including Python developers, authors and contributors to open-source Python libraries and tools, college students and practicing programmers of other languages interested in trying out Python became a dynamic discussion giving everyone new learning on making the system and procedure easy to understand and implement.
According to Sammy Peralta, Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Chikka, he says that as a leader in app development in the country, Chikka helps bring conventions, such as PyCon, that focuses on what are state-of-the-art platforms that will encourage exchange of ideas and experiences and propel developers into even more innovative projects.
Speakers at the Pycon Philippines includes Daniel Greenfeld of cartwheelweb.com, Fil-Am MIT graduate Audrey M. Roy, Australian Dja Ngo expert and Python programmer Malcom Tredinnick, and Bryan Veloso of Github. PyCon originated in the United States and now held in more than 20 countries around the world. While Python is a general-purpose, high-level programming language that started in 1991. It was designed by Guido van Rossum and under the developer name Python Software Foundation.
