Jasmine Yen steps into a bold new chapter with “SWEAT,” her striking new single now available on all major streaming platforms. Blending dark pop, theatrical flair, and fashion-forward attitude, the track captures a more mature side of the 22-year-old singer-songwriter while showcasing her growing confidence as an independent artist.
Driven by brooding synths, a powerful bassline, and Jasmine’s sultry vocals, “SWEAT” explores desire, obsession, and the intoxicating feeling of losing control. The track balances vulnerability with intensity, creating a sound that is haunting, danceable, and distinctly her own.
“I wanted ‘SWEAT’ to feel like a runway show—beautiful, dark, and a little dangerous,” says Jasmine. “Every sound, every lyric, every visual is meant to transport you into a world that’s heightened, theatrical, and unapologetically fashion-forward. This is the most honest I’ve ever been.”
The single’s music video, premiering on October 9, is directed by Erik He, known for his work with YEONJUN and Claudia Valentina, and was filmed in Stockholm. Set entirely indoors, the visual focuses on Jasmine’s physicality and emotional expression through fluid choreography, spontaneous improvisation, and high-fashion styling.

From precise dance sequences to instinctive movements, Jasmine uses her body as an instrument of storytelling, reflecting the song’s dark and pulsating energy. Sculptural fashion pieces stand out against the atmospheric interiors, giving the video a cinematic quality while highlighting Stockholm’s influence as a global fashion and design capital.
“SWEAT” also marks Jasmine’s first major release as an independent artist. Following the teenage introspection of her debut album Tbh and the nostalgic appeal of her 2024 hit “Forever 19,” she now embraces a darker and more mature musical identity with greater creative control over her work.
Jasmine’s journey has taken her from earning a half-scholarship to Berklee College of Music to seeing “Forever 19” land among RTHK’s Top Ten International Gold Songs. Now, with “SWEAT,” she is taking a decisive step toward defining her artistry on her own terms.
“Going independent has given me the freedom to take risks and be completely unapologetic about what I want to create,” she says. “‘SWEAT’ is the truest representation of who I am right now—expressive, theatrical, and completely free. This is just the beginning.”
With its dark-pop sound, runway-inspired visuals, and fearless creative direction, “SWEAT” introduces a new side of Jasmine Yen and sets the tone for an exciting new era in her career.
