Disney+ and The Pokémon Company International have announced a global distribution deal that will bring Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, a new stop-motion series created by acclaimed animation studio Aardman, to audiences worldwide in 2027.
The series will stream exclusively on Disney+ Philippines in 2027, giving fans a fresh stop-motion take on the beloved Pokémon universe.
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu follows Sirfetch’d and Pichu as they journey across the Galar Region on a gallant mission to help and protect Pokémon. Their heroic adventures often go hilariously off course, but each misadventure brings new friendships, rivalries, alliances, challenges, and plenty of laughs.
The series combines Pokémon’s familiar characters and world with Aardman’s signature stop-motion craftsmanship, offering longtime fans and a new generation a fresh way to experience the franchise.
The series was created by The Pokémon Company International and brought to life by Aardman’s creative team, led by director Tom Parkinson, Creative Director for IP Development Nat McKay, and Model Making Creative Lead James Young.
The creative team recently showcased the making of the series at Pokémon XP, highlighting the combination of character-driven comedy, storytelling, and detailed stop-motion animation used to bring the Galar Region and its Pokémon to life.
With adventure, comedy, friendship, and Aardman’s handcrafted animation, Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu is set to give Pokémon fans a playful new adventure when it arrives on Disney+ Philippines in 2027.
