Prime Video is set to premiere “The Love Hypothesis,” the highly anticipated romantic comedy based on Ali Hazelwood’s New York Times best-selling novel, on September 23 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The film follows Olive (Lili Reinhart), a brilliant Ph.D. candidate determined to build a future in academia. When she discovers that her best friend Ahn (Rachel Marsh) has fallen for her crush Jeremy (Nicholas Duvernay), Olive impulsively kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen (Tom Bateman) to convince her friend—and herself—that she has moved on.
What begins as an impulsive act soon develops into a fake relationship governed by rules, boundaries, and a mutually beneficial agreement. But as Olive and Adam spend more time together, the carefully constructed lines between pretending and reality begin to blur.
Olive is then faced with her most challenging hypothesis yet: whether love is worth taking a risk on.
Directed by Claire Scanlon and written by Sarah Rothschild, “The Love Hypothesis” is produced by Elizabeth Cantillon and features a cast led by Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman, alongside Rachel Marsh, Nicholas Duvernay, Jaboukie Young-White, and Arty Froushan.
