Award-winning actress, producer, and director Eva Longoria takes viewers on a flavorful journey across France as she explores the history, traditions, and regional flavors behind the country’s celebrated culinary heritage in “Eva Longoria: Searching for France,” premiering on Metro Channel on Sunday, August 23, at 7 p.m.
From Paris to Provence, Bordeaux, Alsace, Brittany, and Burgundy, Longoria discovers how centuries of history, culture, and connection to the land have shaped French cuisine. Along the way, she explores the concept of terroir—the French belief that the character and quality of food are closely tied to where it is produced—and traces the evolution of French dining from royal kitchens to modern restaurants.

Her culinary adventure takes her to some of France’s most renowned food destinations. In Paris, she samples an oyster with rhubarb alongside acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse, who has earned 21 Michelin stars throughout his career. In Provence, she tries the iconic bouillabaisse, a traditional fish stew with centuries-old roots, while Bordeaux introduces her to celebrated wines and local specialties.
Longoria also travels to Brittany, where she braves stormy weather before enjoying fresh oysters, crab, and blue lobster. In Burgundy, she meets Cistercian monks who continue centuries-old traditions rooted in terroir while producing their own creamy cheese.
The journey also takes Longoria into the world of French pâtisserie. She discovers indulgent creations such as the Dahlia cake, Cédric Grolet’s Mango cake, Rhum au Baba, and inventive treats from Boneshaker Donut. She also puts her own spin on the iconic Ladurée macaron, combining spicy Mexican chocolate and vanilla ganache to create her signature “Diablo.”

For a special culinary experience along the Seine River, Longoria joins three-Michelin-starred chef Eric Ripert and food writer Lindsay Tramuta for a traditional seven-course French fine-dining experience. Each dish offers another glimpse into the history and influence of French cuisine and its lasting impact on the global culinary scene.
Experience the flavors, traditions, and stories behind France’s culinary legacy in “Eva Longoria: Searching for France,” airing Sundays beginning August 23 at 7 p.m. on Metro Channel.
