BINI marked another milestone in its global music journey as the Filipino girl group made its historic debut at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival, representing the Philippines at one of the country’s biggest music events.
The eight-member group energized the Osaka crowd with a 40-minute set at the Mountain Stage of the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park on Friday, Aug. 14. They returned to the same stage at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on Sunday, Aug. 16, performing for festivalgoers and viewers of the livestream via WOWOW On Demand.

BINI performed fan favorites including “Cherry on Top,” “Zero Pressure,” “Out of My Head,” “BLOOMING,” and “Step Back.” They also performed the Japanese version of “Born to Win” and incorporated Japanese lines into “Salamin, Salamin.” The group capped its set with “Pantropiko,” while “Sugar Rush” delighted the Osaka audience and “Unang Kilig” was performed in Tokyo.

The group’s Summer Sonic debut also generated strong online buzz, with BINI reaching No. 1 and No. 3 on X’s global trends on Friday and Sunday, respectively. In the Philippines, the group likewise topped the platform’s trending topics on both days.
Joining BINI in representing the Philippines at this year’s Summer Sonic were Filipino acts Ena Mori and SB19, who also brought their music to the international festival.

Following their Japan performances, BINI resumes its “Signals” world tour, with upcoming concerts in Vancouver on Aug. 18, Calgary on Aug. 21, Edmonton on Aug. 22, Winnipeg on Aug. 24, Toronto on Aug. 27, and Brooklyn, New York, on Aug. 28.
