Award-winning singer Jade Riccio delivers an emotional performance in the music video for “The Denial Song,” the official soundtrack of the iWant Original series Nurse the Dead. Now streaming on the ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel, the music video blends Jade’s heartfelt vocals with touching scenes from the supernatural comedy, giving fans a deeper emotional connection to the series.
As the first Filipino series filmed in Hollywood, Nurse the Dead explores themes of grief, healing, and family through a unique blend of supernatural storytelling and heartfelt drama. The music video complements this journey by revisiting some of the show’s most memorable and emotional moments.
Jade, the only Hall of Fame recipient at the 37th Aliw Awards after earning five consecutive victories, including Best Classical Performer of the Year and Best Female Crossover Performer of the Year, brings both artistry and emotional depth to the song. Beyond performing, she also mentors aspiring artists as the founder of RMA Studio Academy, whose students include Kapamilya singer-actress Maymay Entrata.
Written by Nurse the Dead creator Mark Labella, “The Denial Song” reflects the emotional heart of the series. Inspired by a Filipino family’s struggle with loss and the difficult journey toward acceptance, the song captures the lingering pain of saying goodbye.
Its poignant lyrics echo the emotions of those left behind. The line, “Heaven can wait, I’m not ready yet,” expresses the longing to hold on to a loved one just a little longer, while “I’d rather keep your ghost than learn to love you less” speaks to the painful choice between embracing loss and preserving cherished memories. Together, these lyrics mirror the series’ powerful message about love, grief, and finding the strength to move forward.
