GMA Network has been honored by the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT) for its dedication to creating high-quality, child-appropriate, and culturally relevant programs that nurture the growth and development of Filipino children.
During NCCT’s 28th anniversary celebration in Pasay City on October 24, both GMA and its sister channel, GTV, were recognized as Child-Friendly Broadcast Television Stations.
Kapuso programs iBilib and Born to be Wild also earned Honorable Mentions under the Child-Friendly Television Programs category.

A Posthumous Award was likewise presented to Robert “Uncle Bob” Stewart, founder of the Republic Broadcasting System (RBS), the precursor of GMA, in recognition of his legacy as one of the pioneers and champions of children’s television from the 1960s to the 1990s.
In attendance at the awarding ceremony were GMA Program Management Department Senior AVP Concepcion Agnes, Assistant Preview Manager Legrand Tulod, Public Affairs Segment Producer Shilla Anne Esquibel, Program Researcher Arnold Galvez Jr., Senior Preview Coordinator Nikka Garcia, and NCCT Media Monitoring Coordinator Clarisse Ann Dalangin.
The event underscored NCCT’s continued advocacy for child-friendly media and encouraged stronger collaboration among industry stakeholders. It also celebrated organizations committed to providing safe, educational, and enriching content to help shape a more child-centered media landscape.
