Get ready for a gripping ride as Tempest premieres September 10 exclusively on Disney+. This high-stakes political thriller brings together an impressive international cast including Gianna Jun (My Love From The Star, Kingdom), Gang Dongwon (Peninsula) and John Cho (Star Trek) in a story filled with espionage, intrigue and danger.
The series follows Seo Munju (Gianna Jun), a skilled former UN ambassador, as she investigates an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate accused of being a North Korean spy. Her search for the truth unlocks a dangerous trail of state secrets, conspiracies and betrayal. Protected by Paik Sanho (Gang Dongwon), a mysterious mercenary with his own secrets, Munju races to expose a plot that reaches all the way to the White House but surviving may be her greatest challenge.
Tempest also stars Lee Misook (Queen of Tears), Park Haejoon (When Life Gives You Tangerines), Christopher Gorham (The Lincoln Lawyer), Michael Gaston (Daredevil: Born Again) and Spencer Garrett (Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood). Directed by Kim Heewon (Vincenzo) and co-directed by martial arts expert Heo Myeonghaeng (THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT), with a screenplay by Chung Seokyung (Decision to Leave), this series promises cinematic action and heart-pounding suspense.
