Lampara Publishing House will showcase its dedication to literacy and education at the 2025 Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) with a special seminar led by celebrated teacher-authors Daisy Jane Calado and Victor Villanueva. Known for their widely used Magbasa Tayo and Let’s Read series, based on the Marungko Approach and Systematic Phonics, the two educators will present new learning resources designed to strengthen literacy and numeracy among young Filipino learners.

The seminar takes place on September 12, 2025, at Meeting Room 6, SMX Convention Center. Calado and Villanueva will introduce the following materials:

  • K–3 Filipino and English Reading Packages – a comprehensive program for Kindergarten to Grade 3 students, ideal for remediation and building strong foundations in literacy.

  • Math-Talas: Numeracy Learning Kit – a companion package featuring flashcards, storybooks, a workbook, and a pre-assessment tool with teacher’s guide, developed to enhance early numeracy skills.

In addition to unveiling these resources, the two educators will share insights from recent training sessions in Zambales and Tingloy, Batangas, which demonstrated the impact of the K–3 Reading Packages and Magbasa Tayo/Let’s Read series in improving reading outcomes among Filipino students.

The session is open to educators, school leaders, literacy advocates, and parents seeking practical, research-based tools for teaching.

Lampara Books has long been recognized for producing innovative educational materials that support teachers and learners alike. With the introduction of the new K–3 Reading Packages and Math-Talas, Villanueva and Calado continue to expand this legacy, equipping classrooms with effective and accessible solutions for today’s learning challenges.
