BOGT Philippines proudly announces that its critically acclaimed production 13th of September has received its third invitation to an international theater festival, this time at the prestigious 18th Mondial du Théâtre in Monaco, scheduled from August 20 to 27, 2025. This marks a historic moment as the Philippines participates for the first time in this esteemed quadrennial event, established in 1957.
Following successful appearances at the Festival International de Théâtre de Mont-Laurier in Canada (2019) and THEATERWELTEN in Germany (2021 and 2022), this latest invitation is a significant milestone in the global recognition of Filipino theater.
13th of September is a powerful adaptation by three-time Palanca awardee Eljay Castro Deldoc, based on Lanie Robertson’s The Insanity of Mary Girard. The production features a bold and reimagined staging by Riki Benedicto, recipient of both ALIW and LEAF awards, whose direction has been recognized internationally. Acclaimed director Andoy Ranay takes on the demanding lead role of Mary Girard, joined by Lao Rodriguez and Drew Espenocilla, in performances set to deliver emotional depth and intensity.
