The epic journey of Vikings and dragons takes flight once again in the new character posters for How to Train Your Dragon. This live-action reimagining of the beloved animated film transports us back to the island of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations. The unexpected friendship between Hiccup (Mason Thames) and the Night Fury dragon Toothless challenges long-standing Viking traditions and reshapes the future.

Here are the characters:

Mason Thames as Hiccup on Toothless the Night Fury
Nico Parker as Astrid riding Stormfly the Deadly Nadder
Gabriel Howell as Snotlout on Hookfang the Monstrous Nightmare
Brownwyn James and Harry Trevaldwyn as Ruffnit and Tuffnut on Barf and Belch the Hideous Zippleback
Julian Dennison as Fishlegs on Meatlug the Gruesome Gronckle

Starring Mason Thames, Gerard Butler, Nico Parker, Nick Frost, Julian Dennison, and more, this reimagined adventure is directed and written by Dean DeBlois, the visionary behind the original animated trilogy. Produced by Marc Platt, DeBlois, and Adam Siegel, the film brings the heartwarming story of friendship, courage, and destiny to life with stunning live-action visuals.

From three-time Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe winner Dean DeBlois, this live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon is based on Cressida Cowell’s bestselling book series. With groundbreaking visual effects, the film transforms the iconic story of Hiccup and Toothless into a breathtaking spectacle, showcasing the powerful bond between the Viking and his dragon.
