Last October 11, the GMA Entertainment Group held a story conference for the upcoming afternoon series Binibining Marikit, which stars Harlene Budol, Pokwang, and Tony Labrusca. The series will be directed by Jorron Lee Monroy, the same director of the currently airing Shining Inheritance, also on GMA Afternoon Prime.
Binibining Marikit will mark Harlene’s comeback to the afternoon block after the successful Magandang Dilag, which aired on GMA Network in 2023. This series will also be her first acting collaboration with Pokwang, who is her co-host on the early afternoon variety show TiktoClock. In the story, Pokwang will play Harlene’s mother, as she revealed during her interview on 24 Oras.
Meanwhile, this will be Tony Labrusca’s first project with GMA Network, where he will be one of Harlene’s leading men in the series. His recent acting project was the ABS-CBN and TV5 collaboration Nag-aapoy na Damdamin. He is also known for his roles in other Kapamilya series such as La Luna Sangre, Sino Ang May Sala?, Hello Stranger, and Bagong Umaga. He started his career as part of the singing reality show Pinoy Boyband Superstar, where he did not make the final cut of winners.
Completing the cast of Binibining Marikit are Thea Tolentino, Almira Muhlach, Cris Villanueva, Ashley Rivera, John Feir, Migs Almendras, and Jeff Moses. The series is included in GMA Network’s offerings for 2025.
