It is official, Asia’s Fearless Diva Jona is now part of the judges panel of Tawag ng Tanghalan. It is the long-running singing competition within It’s Showtime that airs Monday to Saturdan in the Kapamilya Channel, TV5, Channel A2Z and The Filipino Channel.
Jona kicks off with her role as a judge (hurado) in the competition last April 17 with a performance with the Quarter Finalists.
Before joining Tawag ng Tanghalan, Jona became one of the judges of TV5’s singing reality show Sing Galing during Season 2 and Sing Galing Kids Edition. She was with Rey Valera in the show who was previously the lead judge of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
Currently, Tawag ng Tanghalan judges include Darren Espanto, Klarisse de Guzman, Angeline Quinto, Jed Madela, Yeng Constanino, Erik Santos, Kyla, Karylle, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Louie Ocampo, and Ogie Alcacid.
Doing a singing competition is not new to Jona where she won the first Pinoy Pop Superstar in GMA Network when she was only 15 years old and using Jonalyn Viray as her screen name. Later she transferred to ABS-CBN and released her self-titled album under Star Music that earned both Certified Gold and Platinum Record in 2017.
