Before the final showdown of Tawag ng Tanghalan Quarter 2 Semi-Finalists, It’s Showtime revealed the three new judges who will be joining the Quarter 3 that will start on June 13. They are the Philippines’ Queen of R&B Kyla, Prince of Pop Erik Santos and composer Louie Ocampo.
Kyla, is not new in singing competitions like TNT whereas she won in DZRH “Hamon sa Kampeon” in 1991 and “Tanghalan ng Kampeon” in 1993. And from there, her career as singer started until she was awarded the title of Philippines’ Queen of R&B. She received numerous awards including Awit Awards, MYX Music Awards, Metropop Song Festival, MTV Philippines, Katha Awards, Guillermo Mendoza Foundation Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards.
Erik, was a product of a singing competition entitled Star In A Million Season 1 in 2003. He became a mainstay in ASAP and released numerous awards. Like Kyla, he is award winning singer who received awards from Aliw Awards, Awit Awards, PMPC Star Awards for TV, Myx Music Awards, and Famas.
Lastly, Louie was one of the original judge of Tawag ng Tanghalan. He is a composer and arranger of multi-awarded singers including Martin Nievera, Joey Albert, Gary Valenciano, and many more. He was one of the resident jurors of the defunct Pinoy Dream Academy Season II.
Kyla, Erik and Louie will be joining Rey Valera, Bobot Mortiz, Mitoy Yonting, Nyoy Volante, Yeng Constantino, K Brosas, Karylle, Billy Crawford and Karla Estrada.
