Last night in Tonight with Boy Abunda, Angel Locsin revealed the reason why she decided not to do the Darna role anymore. This was her decision together with Star Cinema, the producer of the movie. She said this is because of health reason that involves back injury. It will hinder her to do fight scenes and worst it might affect her condition if she takes the risk.
Her back injury involves her spine, which caused by the stunts she did. According to Angel her bulging disc injury developed from doing stunts which according to her she refused to have doubles sometimes because she wanted to give the full experience to her fans.
Meanwhile, in the question of Boy Abunda asking her did she ever think of leaving showbiz she immediately said yes. According to Angel she thought of doing that because she can no longer show to her fans but she said that the ABS-CBN talked to her that not doing Darna doesn’t end her career and there are so many plans for her. She ended her explanation by promising that as long as the viewers need her she will be there.
