Finally, Senator Grace Poe put an end to all speculation on her allege presidential bid in the 2016 whereas she confirmed it together with her family, friends and supporters at the Bahay Alumni in University of the Philippines-Diliman in Quezon City. Wearing white polo and blue jeans, which will be the official colors for her candidacy, Poe announced that she will be joining the 2016 Presidential race.
Just like the rest of presidential candidates Vice President Jejomar Binay and former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, they haven’t revealed their running mate for the election. But unlike with Binay who criticizes the current administration, Poe thanked President Noynoy Aquino for stepping up and bringing back the trust of the Filipino people to the government. Which according to her, she wanted to continue the straight path that the Aquino administration started.
In her speech, Poe mentioned things that she wanted to focus which include the current situation in EDSA and Osmeña Highway in Cebu. She said that she wanted to focus on things that matter to the lives of the Filipino people who worked hard for their family. She also recalled her father, the late Fernando Poe Jr and thanked him and her mother for adopting her. According to her she cannot believe that from being an adopted child before will become a senator and now aiming for a higher position to serve the Filipino people.
Meanwhile, Senator Chiz Escudero, which according to the reports will be running, as vice president and running mate of Poe will be announcing his candidacy very soon. As the article was being written, Poe is still under independent candidate status, which she don’t have political party to represent but according to reports are parties that are open to help and support her bid.
