VP Binay’s resignation letter as cabinet member of President Aquino revealed

After his resignation last June 22 as one of the cabinet members of President Noynoy Aquino III holding the positions as chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) and Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) Concerns, the resignation of Vice President Jejomar Binay was made available in public. The resignation letter originally posted in Rappler contain the letter head of the Office of the Vice President and addressing President Aquino. In his resignation letter as cabinet member, Binay briefly said that he is tendering his irrevocable resignation as member of Cabinet effective immediately.

Netizens especially those who are politically inclined where not surprise of the said act of Binay, which everyone knows his political ambition to run as president on the 2016 election. Some are disappointed on how he resigned because the letter was just telling his resignation and straight forward rather than the usual that has explanation. Few days after his resignation, Binay start hitting the Aquino administration with his speech that was made in his office in Coconut Palace, Pasay City.

In his speech he said the reason he resigned is that it was selective justice is happening in the country and he    start criticizing the key programs and policies of Aquino.

With Binay’s resignation, what will be his function as VP with no office or areas to work with? Will it be a vocal Binay that will be seeing in the last year of the Aquino Administration? He will be running for president for 2016 but as of now he haven’t revealed his running mate and the senatorial team for the said election. Reports says, names of the possible candidates on 2016 include Senator Grace Poe, DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Former Senator Ping Lacson.
