Regarding the latest incident of the Valkyrie, a premium club in Bonifacio Global City whereas Vice Ganda is one of the co-owner has spoken on one of the policy of the place which is “No Cross-dressing”. The latest incident was with the transgender model Geena Rocero who shared that her friend designer Veejay Floresca was not allowed to enter Valkyrie because of the said policy.
With the said incident, Vice Ganda posted on his Twitter account and showed his objection on the said policy and threatens the group that he will pull-out his share on Valkyrie.
Meanwhile the LGBT Advocate and TV host Boy Abunda aired his disgust over the incident via a statement posted on Ang Ladlad party list’s Facebook page.
“Discrimination is wrong, no matter how you view it. The Veejay Floresca incident is plain and simple discrimination. Between policies as opposed to human rights, I would scale on the human rights aspect. May patas na karapatan ang mga taong crossdresser at mga taong transgender na pumasok sa mga gugustuhin nilang pasukin dahil wala silang nilalabag na batas dahil lamang sa kanilang pamamaraan ng pananamit at kasariang pagkakakilanlan. There should also be no distinction between people who crossdress and transgender people. Both of them have the same basic human rights to express themselves according to the clothing that they wishes. I will try my best to air my commentary on Aquino and Abunda Tonight or to make my position public on this matter asap,” he said.
