Returning on PETA Theater this year is the blockbuster musical Rak of Aegis starting June 17 until August 16. This will be Rak of Aegis 4th run and marks the joining of the OPM hit maker Renz Verano in the cast. The person behind the hit songs in the 90s “Remember Me”, “Lorena”,”You and I”, and “Ilang Taon Akong Umaasa”, Verano will give a new twist in the character played by Robert Seña before named Kiel. He will be portraying the character alternately with theater veteran Lorenz Martinez and OJ Mariano of The Company.
Popularly known with the straight to the heart songs, Verano shared that this will be the first time he will be doing both singing and acting in one stage. Very optimistic, he said that he will do his best in portraying the character that Seña used to play.
With all the blockbuster concerts in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Israel, Hawaii, and Australia, Verano shared that during his first rehearsal in Rak of Aegis that it was like he is in a contest and everyone are watching him in his part. He said he enjoyed the warm welcome of the Rak of Aegis team.
Meanwhile Renz in the production of Rak of Aegis are Aicelle Santo and Kim Molina (Aileen), Stella Mendoza and Kalila Aguilos (Mary Jane), Kakai Bautista and Neomi Gonzales (Mercy), Jerald Napoles and Pepe Herrera (Tolits), Myke Salomon, and Poppert Bernadas (Kenny), Nor Domingo, Julienne Mendoza, and Gie Onida (Fernan), Phi Palmos, Ron Alfonso, and Jimmy Marquez (Jewel), Gimbey dela Cruz, Abi Sulit, Gab Pangilinan, Jet Barrun, Gio Gahol, Carlon Matobato, John Moran, and Paeng Sudayan (Ensemble).
Maribel Legarda continues to direct the 4th run of Rak of Aegis and promises to keep the production fresh and unique. Rak of Aegis will wave its run from June 17 to August 16 from Tuesdays to Fridays (8PM) and Saturdays to Sundays (3:00pm and 8:00pm) at the PETA Theater Center located at No. 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, QC.
