Vasyl Lomachenko retains WBO Featherweight Championship; KOs Gamalier Rodriguez

Prior to the much-awaited fight of Manny Pacquaiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand Arena, one of the televised undercard games is the boxing fight of Vasyl Lomachenko VS Gamalier Rodriguez for the WBO Featherweight Championship. Lomachenko in the yellow gloves and Rodriguez in black.

At first Rodriguez throws punches to Lomachenko but the Ukrainian boxer reciprocates the same punches leading to the first fall of Rodriguez in the fight. Rodriguez mistakenly punches Lomachenko below the belt that put him in a big trouble.

And on the 9th round, Lomachenko throws combination of uppercuts and strong punches that lead to Rodriguez’ second fall. The Puerto Rican was down on his knees trying to stand but before doing it the referee was done counting 10.

Lomachenko retains WBO Featherweight Championship and hopes will be getting more fights in the future.

They are included in the pre-boxing fight of Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather Jr. as undercards at the MGM Grand Arena. Among the undercards only them and Super Bantamweight World Champion Leo ‘El Terremoto’ Santa Cruz VS Jose Cayetano were televised. Other undercards included but untelevised include (Chris ‘Sweet’ Pearson VS Said El Harrak for Super Welterweight title, Jesse Hart VS Mike Jimenez for Super Middleweight title, Andrew ‘The Beast’ Tabiti VS Anthony Caputo Smith for Cruiserweight title and for the Super Welterweight title is Brad Solomon VS Adrian Rene Granados.
