After Sarah Geronimo, another Filipina singing champion sings the theme song of an iconic Disney character named Cinderella entitled “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”. Rachelle Anne Go will be singing the theme song of Cinderella in the Philippine version of its music video that will be released in Disney Channel and Disney Channel Asia YouTube Channel on Saturday, 7 March, 2015.
This will be part of the promo of the live-action film of Cinderella that will be released on March 12 featuring Lily James as the lead star together with Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgård, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham Carter.
The song was written and composed by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston. It was the same song used in the 1950 animated film. According to Amit Malhotra, General Manager of Walt Disney Studios, Southeast Asia, the chose Rachelle Ann Go as she embodies the positivity and inspirations of Cinderella, and is a living idol for young Filipinos everywhere who never stopped following her dreams.
Just like Cinderella, Rachelle embarks on a journey in reaching her dreams from being one of the contestants of Search for a Star where she won the competition and now playing the role of Gigi in the West End revival of the musical “Miss Saigon” where she received Best Featured Actress and Best Supporting Actress accolades from London award-giving bodies.
