Alex Gonzaga with her wittiness and pure talent never fails to make everyone happy everytime she goes out on stage from ASAP to Banana Split and other shows where she appeared. Before she entered the Pinoy Big Brother house as a special housemate for the All In edition she did a segment in Banana Split where she played Shan Cai of Meteor Garden on the spoof they did with Zanjoe Marudo as Dao Ming Si. She posted her photo with Zanjoe on her official Instagram account (@mscathygonzaga).
She never thought that the real Shan Cai who is Barbie Hsu actually noticed her. In an Instagram account of Xiao Tiao (@xiao.tiao) posted Alex’s photo and said that she’s very popular in the Philippines with a million of followers and might be doing the remake of Meteor Garden. She didn’t know that it was a spoof Meteor Garden on Banana Split which has a re-run on ABS-CBN afternoon block during that time. Barbie replied on the post telling that Alex is beautiful.
In the article posted by Push.com.ph they screen grabbed her post (which she deleted after), with the message: Ayyyy Hindiiii! Barbie Hsu noticed me. At least aware siya sa presence ko!!! Ayyyy kilig akooo!!! Ayyy hindi!!! Ni Yao De Ai Shan Cai! Please introduce me to Dao Ming Si!!! #Feeling #AlexAwarenessofShanCai.” Alex was very happy that Barbie noticed her and she wanted her to introduced her to Dao Ming Si which is Gerry Yan.
Doing a remake is not new to Alex if ever given a chance to do Meteor Garden as Shan Cai because she did the top-rating remake of Pure Love and soon Inday Bote on ABS-CBN.
