It was a very emotional week for Vice Ganda during the 5th Anniversary of It’s Showtime as they conclude it with the Magpasikat week with the hosts as contestants and winners to bring home the prizes for their chose charity. Vice who was absent for several weeks due to health problem returned during that week and pursued his performance with Ryan Bang that touches the hearts of the viewers of the show including the judges and co-hosts. During the Saturday episode of It’s Showtime, Vice was once again emotional after he opened up last Thursday (October 23) that he might be on leave with health as major concern. In his message he said this past few weeks was hard for him because of the set-backs he need to encounter during the height of his projects most especially the sequel of Praybeyt Banjamin his entry for the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival.
He said that he is a very transparent person where everyone can see that he’s not okay despite of the jokes he threw. He cannot fake it, that’s the word of Vice in his statement on the Saturday episode. He mentioned that he owe a lot to madlang people and his fellow co-hosts in It’s Showtime that from a simple gay comedian he became known for his craft. That’s why he want to be open to everyone about his feelings especially his family in the noontine show. “Isa po akong baklang artista pero hindi ako baklang showbiz,” he said.
In an interview of ABS-CBNNews through the entertainment reporter Gretchen Fullido, Vice shared that he will be taking a break from the show, citing his health as a “major concern.” He said he needs to rest because if not it will affect his voice in the future. Vice said that he has problem in his throat where his case with acid reflux worsen the scenario before which he ignore it because of the work. He will be working to undergo complete rest after they work on his throat which requires him not to speak to much, to be so much happy and become stress.
He also mentioned that his plan be on leave in the show is not connected with his co-workers where according to rumors he is having problem to some of them. And regarding with his rest from work, he said that he need to arrange it first because the taping of his movie is now on full swing including his back to back shows It’s Showtime and Gandang Gabi Vice.
