The daughter of the Vice President Jejomar Binay, Nancy Binay didn’t show up in her proclamation as a senator-elect last Thursday (May 16) evening at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). The said proclamation is for the top 6 senatorial candidates including Grace Poe who ranked number 1 in the poll, followed by Loren Legarda, Chiz Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano and Sonny Angara. Binay ranked number 5 in the top 6 senatorial candidates.

Despite of her absense in the said proclamation, Commission on Election (COMELEC) Chairman Sixto Brillantes continued the said proclamation of the top 6 including Binay. Meanwhile, with her no show in the said event, netizens continuously sends their criticism with the VP’s daughter on her snubbing the proclamation. Others even mentioned that it will be an example of what will Nancy is doing once she assumed the position as senator which is not attending important activities in the senate.

According to reports Nancy informed the COMELEC that she will not be appearing in the said proclamation. At the same time the political party of Nancy Binay, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) through their campaign manager Tobias “Toby” Tiangco said in a press conference that COMELEC should not pursue the said proclamation because of the suspicious transmission of election results from the remaining 30 % of PCOS machines that COMELEC fails to explain.
