Weeks after the soft launching of Bawal Ang Epal Dito campaign with selected bloggers, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) headed by Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Juliano-Soliman continues their service in reaching out to their fellow Filipinos who are in need for financial support to elevate themselves from poverty through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Along with the campaign, Sec. Soliman wanted to ensure the protection of their beneficiaries from the politicians who wanted to take advantage on the 4Ps and making the beneficiaries that they have the power to include or take out the names of anyone in the list if they will or will not support them.

DSWD affirms that they’re the only one who can take out the names in the list for those who fails to fulfill the 4Ps agreement which is ensuring their children to go to school and maintain their nutrition and health. Beneficiaries can recommend names to DSWD given that they will undergo the screening process.

Meanwhile, the Bawal ang Epal Dito campaign of DSWD officially kicks off in Carcar City, in the Province of Cebu in the morning of February 23 which supported by DSWD Director for Regiob VII Mercidita Jabagat, National Project Manager Director Rodora Babaran, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Bimbo Fernandez,  and DILG Director Anatas Villacorta. With the kick off, Sec Soliman officially unveiled the Bawal Ang Epal Campaign banners and posters that will be posted in all Landbank branches where it has 4Ps distribution,  DSWD offices, and Philpost brances. A letter to all local government units was released by DILG to inform them about the project and supported by the Commission of Election (COMELEC).

For those who wanted to send their complaints and reports about politicians violating the campaign can call 0918.912.2813. Sec. Soliman also emphasizes that the beneficiaries can now use their 4Ps card as substitute to PhilHealth cards where it will not require them to pay downpayments on hospitals upon admission which one of the major problems encountered of most of the Filipinos.
