UNICEF Philippines raises Php 3M in their Auction for Action project

In line with the 2nd Auction for Action of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) that was held online via eBay last October 1-7, 2012, they raised funds reaching more than Php 3 million. The funds raised from the UNICEF Action for Action will benefit the poorest and vulnerable children in the Philippines especially in the Central Mindanao who were victims of displacement and malnutrition.

The UNICEF Action for Action was headed by Daphne Oseña-Paez, UNICEF’s Special Advocate for Children. She collaborates with different artists from all areas of visual arts including sculptures, furniture, paintings, and even jewelries. Famous names in the industry that participated in this advocacy campaign of UNICEF were Michael Cacnio, Ito Kish, Jovan Benito, Ramon Orlina, Juvenal Sanso, Kenneth Cobonpue, Manuel Baldemor, Amina Aranaz, KawayanTech and Plet Bolipata.

The Auction for Action of UNICEF was an exclusive online engagement through eBay where it gives everyone not only the Filipinos to join this fund raising activity. With the help of social media and supporters there are also buyers coming from other countries including US and Singapore. All items that was posted is a donation of all the artists to UNICEF and proceeds will go directly to the UN agencyt that will focus on the education, health and nutrition, protection and emergency programmes for children who need it the most.
