It’s been a while since Warner Bros. Pictures releases a family story and Trouble with the Curve is great offering this holiday season. Directed by Robert Lorenz, the sports-drama-family film also celebrates the return of the veteran actor and director Clint Eastwood in front of the camera after his last film entitled Gran Torino in 2008. The Trouble with the Curve also stars Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, Matthew Lillard, and John Goodman. It will be shown in all cinemas nationwide starting November 28.

Trouble with the Curve follows the story of a retiring baseball scout for the Atlanta Braves named Gus Lobel (Eastwood). He has two problems; his failing eyesight because of glaucoma and his relationship with Mickey his estranged daughter who was separated with him since she was a child. Wanted to scout a new baseball player for the Braves, Gus visits North Carolina to look for a new prospect and Mickey followed him leaving behind her job just to help her father as requested by Pete (Goodman), Gus’ friend and boss.

From just a scouting activity for the Braves, Mickey will finally discover all the answers that she is longing to have from his stubborn father at the same time discover new love with Johnny Flanagan (Timberlake) who was a former baseball player that her father scouted. Flanagan is now a scout in the rival team.

What’s good with the film Trouble with the Curve is that it tackles three layers of story; Gus and Mickey in their relationship as father and daughter, Mickey with her dream, search for new love and realization and lastly Gus in his passion in discovering talents for the Atlanta Braves. It is a kind of movie that is perfect for everyone especially who wanted that feel good and inspirational. The plot is very simple but the complexity lies in each character making it bigger and connecting to the moviegoers.

Trouble with the Curve was written by Randy Brown and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures nationwide.
