All the cover songs included in the BEGIN album were hand-picked by David which each song holds a special meaning to his life. Aside from the album, Archuleta is preparing for his two-year mission in South America under The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or popularly known to others as the Mormon Church.

According to David, the album will tell why he come up with some of the decisions that some of his fans and friends are having the hard time to understand. He said that through the “BEGIN” album it will explain to them why he decided to do things including his two-year hiatus in the industry in order to fulfill his missionary task to his church. “It really comes from my heart. While I can’t always explain what I want to say using words, I hope that these songs will help people know where I am coming from on my mission decision.” He ended.
