Last August 13, the Asian Food Channel brings the 3rd year of their Eats Asia event that showcases oriental cooking from China, Thailand, Japan, Korea and Philippines. The said food event happened in the A-venue Hall, Makati Avenue, Makati City in partnership of Skycable where the 24-hour food channel airs daily, different culinary schools in the country and major restaurants and food solutions. The event was tagged as Eats Asia 3: Thrice as Delish and it was open for both Skycable subscribers and walk in.

Most of the food served at the event was cooked by participating culinary schools including Global City Innovative College (GCIC), De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (CSB), Most Institute Culinary Arts School, Enderun, and Center for Culinary Arts (CCA). I enjoyed the double boiled soup served by GCIC and according to them it was good for the health where they used beef bones and spices to bring out the best broth that anyone can taste. I also enjoyed the CCA’s curry made dishes where their chicken curry and spring rolls was very appetizing. Aside from that, food solutions and restaurants participated and even provide delicious meals for the guests. Selecta, San Marino, Lady’s Choice, Knorr Cusinart, Banapple, Chef Laudico, Adobo Republic, Coffee Beanery, Yoshinoya, Nestle D Lite Cream, and Nestea. I enjoyed the Nestle D Lite Cream tuna spread that is very healthy and sinfully good and also Lady’s Choice’s enhanced scrambled egg that is very creamy and best partner with sliced of bread and cool it down with Nestea Iced Tea.

Foodies like me are all present on AFC's Eats Asia event

Aside from the eating part, Eats Asia 3 also showcases cooking talents from all the participating schools and other chefs present in the event. There are also games like the Yoshinoya gyudon eating contest which is my favorite dish in that restaurant where I sprinkled sesame seeds and chili powder to make it more appetizing. And lastly, knowing that it was an oriental food expo there were cultural performances from China, Japan, Thailand, Philippines and Korea that made the stage more lively and colorful.

I love the spiciness of this chicken curry wish it goes with a cup of rice 🙂

The food expo that AFC spearheaded gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the diverse oriental cooking which all I can say that most of our culinary schools here in the country already mastered. I am thankful that I was invited in this event, thanks to Jigs and Ms. Cecille who were there to accompany us on the event.  I am hoping that there will be more events like this that AFC will be heading to encourage their food loving followers to engage personally on oriental cuisine and be the venue for future Filipino chefs from different culinary schools to showcase their cooking talents.

GCIC - the culinary school that provides my favorite double boiled soup
