>to Multi-awarded veteran actor Anthony Hopkins returns to the big screen in New Line Cinema and Warner Bros Pictures’ The Rite. It is 2011 exorcism drama horror film directed by Mikael Håfström and written by Matt Baglio and Michael Petroni where Hopkins played the role of Father Lucas.
The Rite was inspired by true events, this psychological thriller follows skeptical seminary student who meets an unorthodox priest named Father, who introduces him to the darker side of his faith, uncovering the devil’s reach even to one of the holiest places on Earth.
Hopkins became popular with the character he portrayed like Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the Hannibal series; Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon. In his latest film he will be joining Colin O’Donoghue, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Alice Braga, and Ciaran Hinds. The movie is set to be shown on the first quarter of 2011, where he will also be starring in Thor as Odin, a Columbia Pictures adaptation of a comic book of the same name appearing in Marvel Comics.
The Rite is distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
