TV Personality Daphne Oseña-Paez headed the said fund raising. The online auction for UNICEF will happen at the on www.ebay.ph/unicef beginning May 25.

Among the artists who contributed their works for the project include: Manny Baldemor, Michael Cacnio, Celestina, Seb Chua, Kenneth Cobonpue, Araceli Limcaco Dans, Kristine Dee, Janina Dizon, Tom Epperson, Accessory Lab, Ito Kish, E. Billy Mondoñedo, Ramon Orlina, Debbie Palao, Ling Quisumbing Ramilo, Benji Reyes, Popo San Pascual, Vito Selma, Paul Syjuco, Ricky Toledo and Chito Vijandre of FIRMA/Felicity, Reg Yuson, Jovan Benito, Jomar Delluba, Hamzah Marbella, Dominic Rubio, Juvenal Sanso, and UNICEF Special Advocate for Children, Ms. Daphne Oseña Paez.

For the experiential packages there will be an auction for a dinner by Chef Tonyboy Escalante of Antonio’s and dugout experience with the Philippine Football Team or Azkals on July 3 at the World Cup qualifier in Manila.

All proceeds from auction will be directed to the projects of UNICEF Philippines as they prioritize the basic education needs, health and protection of the children living in Mindanao especially those in the conflict-affected areas and disadvantaged communities. The project will also target concerns on sanitation, safe water and nutrition needed by the children especially those in the primary education. The organizations core goals include:

1. Child Education Development
2. Mainstream Learning
3. Child Protection

Right now in the Philippines, UNICEF reported that 39% of children have access to pre-school education and at the same time only 72% finish primary education. There are 1.7 Million children who don’t have birth certificate. The organization as of 2010 already provided assistance to 435 day care centers, 227 home-based sites and even provided early learning services on horseback to remote areas of Mindanao.

The organization promotes and advocates in achieving the United Nation Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which six out of eight MDGS concerns directly to children especially the Universal Primary Education (MDG2), Child Mortality (MDG4), Maternal Health (MDG5), and Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases (MDG6).For more information about UNICEF visit http://www.unicef.org and for the Philippine office visit http://www.unicef.org/philippines.
