Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and BPI Foundation (BPIF) are expanding access to multimedia learning and financial education in schools across the Visayas and Mindanao through their ongoing partnership under the FinEd Unboxed program.
Throughout September, KCFI and BPIF brought Knowledge Channel TV sets and educational resources to schools in Isabela City, Basilan; Zamboanga City; Guimaras; and Iloilo City. The initiative aims to provide learners and teachers with additional tools that can make classroom instruction more engaging, interactive, and relevant.

Recipient schools received learning packages featuring a 55-inch Smart TV equipped with the Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML), which contains more than 1,500 curriculum-aligned video lessons. The resources cover different grade levels and subjects and are designed to complement daily classroom activities through multimedia learning.
The partnership also launched new episodes of “Estudyantipid,” an original Knowledge Channel educational series that introduces young learners to financial literacy through relatable situations and practical lessons. The series forms part of the partners’ efforts to help students develop money-management skills that they can apply in their everyday lives.

KCFI Vice President Edric Calma expressed his appreciation for BPIF’s continued support in bringing multimedia learning resources closer to Filipino learners across the country.
“Through our partnership with the BPI Foundation, we are building on that legacy. The turnover of the Knowledge Channel TV does not merely provide access to our curriculum-based video lessons, but is an investment in the future for every learner who will benefit from curriculum-aligned video lessons, all developed to make learning more engaging and fun, more interactive and constructive, and more effective and relevant,” Calma said.

For BPIF Trustee Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria, financial education can help young Filipinos develop skills that will prepare them for future responsibilities.
“At BPI, we believe that financial education is a powerful tool for empowerment. By helping young Filipinos develop practical money skills early, we can help build a generation that is more responsible, resilient, and prepared for the future,” Santamaria said.
Through FinEd Unboxed, KCFI and BPIF continue to combine educational technology and financial literacy initiatives to support holistic learning and help equip Filipino students with knowledge and skills for both the classroom and everyday life.
