After three years of pursuing her dreams in South Korea, Filipina singer and former UNIS member Gehlee Dangca is returning to the Philippines on September 29 to begin a new chapter in her career as she explores opportunities in the local and international entertainment scene.
Gehlee first gained international recognition through “Universe Ticket,” the global survival program that produced the K-pop girl group UNIS. Her journey began when SBS partnered with Universal Records Philippines to scout Filipino talents for the competition.
Among the Filipino hopefuls who auditioned, Gehlee earned a spot in the program and quickly became one of its standout contestants, receiving the highest number of votes. She eventually secured the fourth debut spot among the eight contestants chosen to form UNIS.
In March 2024, Gehlee officially debuted with UNIS and spent the next two and a half years based in South Korea. Her time with the group gave her valuable experience as a performer and K-pop artist while helping her connect with audiences and fans from different parts of the world.
Now back in the Philippines to continue her education, Gehlee is set to become more visible in local media and entertainment. Her homecoming will include upcoming activities and projects designed to showcase more of her personality and talents while giving her the opportunity to reconnect with Filipino fans.
Gehlee will continue her partnership with Universal Records Philippines as her recording label. GLXY Talent Management, the talent management arm of Universal Records, and Star Horizon TV Production will oversee her management in the Philippines.
Both management teams have supported Gehlee since before her journey in South Korea and will continue to work together in developing opportunities for her career locally and internationally.
She also joins the growing roster of international talents represented by Universal Records and GLXY, including Korean stars Kim Myung Soo (L) and Choi Bo Min, as well as Thai internet sensation Aon Somrutai, known for her viral catchphrase “Thank you, Kateyki.”
With her K-pop experience, international exposure, and growing fanbase, Gehlee is ready to take on new opportunities closer to home while continuing to pursue her ambitions beyond the Philippines.
