Disney+ is set to premiere the new Korean melodrama Between Steps on October 5, bringing together Choo Youngwoo and Kim Sohyun as an unlikely pair whose lives take an unexpected turn when they meet.
Set in a university robotics lab, Between Steps follows Park Minjae, a doctoral candidate and former swimmer whose dream of becoming a professional athlete ended after he lost his leg. Reserved and wary of getting hurt, Minjae has kept romance at a distance until Lim Youjin, a transfer student from the Clothing and Textiles course, enters his life.
Known as a troublemaker and considered Minjae’s complete opposite, Youjin finds herself in a new field after being prevented from graduating. Although the two initially struggle to connect, their awkward encounters gradually give way to an unexpected attraction.
Choo Youngwoo, known for Head over Heels and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, stars as Minjae, while Kim Sohyun of Good Boy and Love Alarm plays Youjin. The 12-episode series is written by Min Hyojung, whose credits include Attic Cat and Full House, and directed by Ahn Pansuk, known for The White Tower, Secret Love Affair, and Heard It Through the Grapevine.
Between Steps premieres October 5 on Disney+, with new episodes streaming every Monday and Tuesday.
Fans of Korean romantic dramas can also stream titles such as Red Swan, Soundtrack #1, and Call It Love on Disney+.
