Prime Video brings together two of the country’s leading entertainment companies for “Honor Thy Mother,” a 14-episode family drama-suspense series starring acclaimed actress Sharon Cuneta and award-winning actress Barbie Forteza. The series premieres September 11, exclusively on Prime Video.
Cuneta and Forteza take on the roles of a mother and daughter whose long-awaited reunion quickly turns into a battle of wills. Cuneta portrays a formidable CEO of a powerful family-run business whose carefully controlled world is shaken by an unexpected crisis, while Forteza plays a determined young woman whose arrival reveals a life-changing truth: she is the CEO’s long-lost daughter.
As the two are thrust back into each other’s lives, old wounds and long-buried secrets resurface. Their complicated relationship is further tested as they become fierce rivals fighting for what they believe is rightfully theirs, forcing them to choose between confronting their painful past together or allowing it to tear them apart.
Joining Cuneta and Forteza are John Estrada, Khalil Ramos, Tonton Gutierrez, and Mercedes Cabral, bringing together an ensemble of established and contemporary Filipino talents. The series is directed by award-winning filmmakers Onat Diaz, known for Wildflower, Dirty Linen, and The Alibi, and Jojo Saguin, whose credits include Linlang and The Alibi.
