Former “The Voice Kids Philippines” finalist delivers a fiery hip-hop anthem about turning criticism into motivation
Former The Voice Kids Philippines Season 2 finalist Sassa Dagdag is embracing confidence, grit, and resilience with her new single, “Alamat Ng Baga,” her first release under ABS-CBN’s DNA Music.
Fueled by powerful lyrics and an unapologetic attitude, the fiery hip-hop track is about refusing to be defined by criticism and choosing to turn setbacks into motivation. Sassa co-wrote the song with Michael “Cursebox” Negapatan, Venzon “Abaddon” Malubay, and DNA Music label head Gab Tagadtad.
Sassa first captured viewers’ attention as a finalist on The Voice Kids Philippines in 2015 under Team Bamboo. She made her official recording debut in 2017 with the EP Sassy Sassa, which featured the songs “Itatago Na Lang” and “Kumakaba.”

Since then, she has continued to explore her versatility as an artist through singles including “Pasensya Ka Na,” “Picking Petals,” and “Hulog Ni Bathala.”
In recent years, Sassa also gained renewed attention online after her cover of Flow G’s “Rapstar” went viral, earning more than 3.7 million views on TikTok. The performance introduced her to a wider audience and highlighted her ability to combine impressive rap skills with her powerful vocals.
Now, with “Alamat Ng Baga,” Sassa takes another step forward, bringing together her vocal and rap abilities in a track that reflects confidence, determination, and the strength to rise above criticism.
