ABS-CBN Music reaffirmed its strong presence in the local music industry after its artists and releases earned multiple accolades at the 17th PMPC Star Awards for Music, organized by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC).
Fresh from the successful Manila leg of their BINI Signals World Tour, the nation’s girl group BINI took home the Dance Recording of the Year award for their chart-topping hit “Salamin, Salamin.” The group also won Pop Album of the Year for “Talaarawan.”
Singer-songwriter Maki emerged as one of the night’s biggest winners, receiving the Male Pop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year awards for his breakout hit “Dilaw.”
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda earned the Christmas Song of the Year award for “Rainbow Christmas,” a festive anthem celebrating the joy of the holiday season. The song was co-written by Vice Ganda, Jonathan Manalo, Roque “Rox” Santos, and Jeremy Glinoga.
Veteran singer Jamie Rivera, together with 92 AD, won Inspirational Song of the Year for “Ningas ng Pag-asa,” a song that carries a message of hope and perseverance.
Singer-songwriter Angela Ken was recognized as Female Acoustic Artist of the Year for her heartfelt track “Kulimlim.”
Rounding out ABS-CBN Music’s roster of winners, Dwayne Garcia received the New Male Recording Artist of the Year award for “Taym Perst Muna,” while Five Fingers was named New Male Group Artist of the Year for “Lakas Mo.”
The 17th PMPC Star Awards for Music recognizes outstanding achievements by Filipino artists, songwriters, composers, producers, and other music industry professionals across a wide range of genres and categories, celebrating excellence in Original Pilipino Music.
