The emotional heart of iWant’s supernatural comedy series “Nurse the Dead” comes alive with the release of its official soundtrack, “The Denial Song,” performed by singer and vocal coach Jade Riccio.

More than just a theme song, the bittersweet track carries a remarkable story behind its creation. It was written and composed by Mark Labella, creator of the first Filipino-produced series in Hollywood, while serving on a medical mission deep in the jungles of Panama.

“I originally wrote the lyrics and melody while I was in the jungle in Panama during a medical mission, so this song has always carried a very personal emotional connection for me,” Mark shared.

The songwriter also recently uncovered an unexpected connection that made the song’s origin even more meaningful.

“What I only recently discovered is that actress Shelley Long personally sponsored me for that mission,” he revealed. “So in a strange and beautiful twist of fate, the theme song for ‘Nurse the Dead’ was written in the jungles of Panama during a medical mission made possible by one of Hollywood’s most iconic actresses.”

Produced by RMA Studio Academy, Jade Riccio, Wesley Villarica, and Marvin Aritrangco, “The Denial Song” is released under Star Music and reflects the series’ themes of grief, healing, acceptance, and hope.

“Nurse the Dead” stars Jelynn Sophia Malone, alongside Anthony Jennings, Princess Punzalan, Ruby Rodriguez, Gigette Reyes, and Tootsie Guevara. The supernatural comedy premiered on iWant last June 12 and releases new episodes every Friday.

Fans can now stream “The Denial Song” on major digital music platforms worldwide while following the emotional and supernatural journey of “Nurse the Dead” exclusively on iWant.
