EastWest Banking Corporation has received major recognitions at the 19th Annual Alpha Southeast Asia Best Deal & Solution Awards & ESG Awards 2025, underscoring its growing presence in the country’s capital markets and its strength in structuring and supporting landmark financing transactions for leading corporations.
As Domestic Participating Underwriter, the bank played a significant role in the ₱34.3 billion initial public offering of Maynilad Water Services, Inc., the second-largest IPO in Philippine history. The transaction was recognized as Best IPO for Retail Investors in Asia 2025 and Best Equity/IPO Deal of the Year in the Philippines 2025.
EastWest Banking Corporation helped broaden retail investor participation in the offer by leveraging its nationwide branch network and relationships with emerging affluent clients. Through investor education initiatives, the bank made equity investing more accessible and easier to understand, supporting a more inclusive and diversified investor base while advancing financial literacy in the local capital markets.

In another key transaction, the bank served as Joint Lead Underwriter and Joint Bookrunner for the ₱17 billion tranche of SM Prime Holdings, Inc.’s fixed-rate bond issuance, which was named Best Local Currency Bond in the Philippines 2025. The issuance forms part of SM Prime’s broader ₱42 billion multi-tranche fundraising program for 2025, designed to support its long-term nationwide expansion projects.
“These recognitions reflect EastWest’s deepening capital markets expertise,” said EastWest Chief Executive Officer Jerry G. Ngo. “The Maynilad IPO and SM Prime bond transaction demonstrate our commitment to supporting key institutions with well-structured financing solutions. We are honored to contribute to nation-building initiatives that expand access to capital and strengthen the Philippine economy.”
The awards are presented by Alpha Southeast Asia, a regional capital markets publication that has, for 19 years, recognized excellence in financial leadership, innovation, and execution across Southeast Asia’s financial industry.
