Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Lost Daughter) writes, directs, and produces the film, bringing to life a daring new vision of the Frankenstein mythos.
At the heart of The Bride! is a lonely Frankenstein (Academy Award winner Christian Bale) who travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the help of pioneering scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening). Together, they revive a murdered young woman, and The Bride (Academy Award nominee Jessie Buckley) is born. What follows is an explosive story filled with murder, possession, a radical cultural uprising, and a wild, combustible romance between outlaw lovers.
The film features an all-star cast that includes Peter Sarsgaard, Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, and Oscar winner Penélope Cruz.
