The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) has made a historic move for Filipino theater fans as the official cast recording of its hit musical Walang Aray is now available on Spotify. This release, made possible in collaboration with premier audio production house Soundesign Manila, allows audiences to enjoy the production’s infectious music anytime, anywhere.

A contemporary reimagining of Severino Reyes’ zarzuela Walang Sugat, Rody Vera’s Walang Aray brings sharper satire, deeper emotional resonance, and bold new interpretations while retaining its humor and heartwarming core. Blending comedy, romance, and political commentary, the musical has captivated audiences with its subversive yet heartfelt take on love and resistance. It also serves as the flagship production of PETA’s 58th Theater Season, themed Love and Power.

The cast recording showcases the music of award-winning composer and musical director Vince Lim. Featured songs include fan favorites such as “Pangako ‘Yan,” “Luv U 4 Ever,” “Tipo Kong Lalaki,” “Walang Aray Finale,” “Huwag Mo Akong Saktan,” “Front Act,” along with a newly released mash-up track, “Tumindig at Lumaban” paired with the stirring Act I closer “Bayan Ko.”

The recording is also a testament to PETA’s collaboration with Soundesign Manila, a pioneer in Philippine audio production since 1997. Known for its expertise in sound design, composition, arrangement, and soundtrack production, Soundesign has long set the standard for sonic storytelling. Their technical mastery and creative vision were crucial in capturing the vibrance and energy of Walang Aray’s score.

“We are proud that the outstanding music and witty storytelling of Walang Aray can now be appreciated by as many theater fans who have long clamored for the music to be available for streaming. Our partnership with an organization as reputable as Soundesign Manila elevated the recording beyond expectation,” said Leloi Arcete, PETA’s Head of PR and Corporate Affairs and Executive Producer of the Walang Aray Cast Recording.

“At Soundesign Manila, we believe in the transformative power of music and sound. Walang Aray’s cast recording was a way for us to support the arts and the art of doing original music for theater,” added Raul Blay, Soundesign Manila’s President and Founder.

The Walang Aray Official Cast Recording is now available on Spotify. Theater fans can listen by searching “Walang Aray Cast Recording” or accessing the direct link at bit.ly/WA2025CastRecording.

For those who wish to experience the production live, Walang Aray runs at the PETA Theater Center until October 12, 2025. Tickets are available through ticket2me.net.
