UK-born singer, songwriter, and producer Cavetown (Robin Skinner) has unveiled his latest single, “Baby Spoon,” accompanied by a dreamy, intimate music video that ushers in a brand-new chapter for the beloved indie artist. The release also marks his signing to Futures Music Group (home to Mt. Joy, Phantogram, Barns Courtney, and more), a joint venture between Neon Gold and Avenue A Records.
The announcement follows an extraordinary run for Cavetown: over the past year and a half, he’s earned six RIAA Platinum singles, cementing his status as one of the most vital and resonant new voices of his generation. He’s graced some of the world’s biggest stages including Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza, and toured alongside AJR, Pierce the Veil, Mother Mother, and others.

Since first writing songs as a teenager in Cambridge, Skinner has cultivated a fiercely loyal global following, drawing billions of streams across a catalog that spans lo-fi bedroom beginnings to lush, self-produced indie-pop gems. His music remains a safe haven for listeners worldwide: “soft hands offering understanding when the world felt too sharp.”
“Baby Spoon” captures this spirit with new vulnerability. Inspired by his relationship with his partner, the track is a tender meditation on self-acceptance and intimacy. “‘Baby Spoon’ is a reminder to my partner that I’ll always be there to talk to her and make her feel better. Growing up as a transmasc guy, I went through a phase of overdoing masculinity because I thought that’s what was expected of me. With her, I can be delicate, soft, I can be the baby spoon,” Skinner shares.
Beyond music, Cavetown continues to champion causes close to his heart. Through his This Is Home initiative, he has raised more than $650,000 for LGBTQ+ organizations, further amplifying his voice as an artist of both vulnerability and action.
“Baby Spoon” is out now on all streaming platforms.
